New Review of The Human and the Meat in Marx & Philosophy Review of Books

A new review of my book The Human and the Meat has been published in Marx & Philosophy Review of Books.
I’m truly grateful to Carlo Salzani for engaging so carefully with the book, and to Marx & Philosophy Review of Books for hosting this conversation.
I hope that, through this comprehensive and clear review, the book may also reach Marxist readers and debates beyond the more specific field of animal studies, contributing to a deeper understanding of why the analysis of animal domination is pivotal to any critique of capitalist societies.
The “animal question” [...] must be understood as a central socio-political issue embedded in the organisation of capitalist society. A Marxist framework, suitably reworked, allows one to analyse how domination is materially produced and reproduced through social forms, institutional arrangements, and everyday practices. The ambition of the book is therefore twofold: to demonstrate the structural link between capitalism and animal domination, and to articulate this link in a way that remains attentive to the intersection of multiple forms of oppression."
