Zine and Transcript: Del dominio sugli animali - Event
It's a real pleasure to share the beautiful zine containing the Italian transcript of the event Del dominio sugli animali. Forme della subordinazione dal sacrificio alla carne (On Domination over Animals: Forms of Subordination from Sacrifice to Meat), held on 20 May 2026 at the University of Milan, La Statale. The event included my keynote lecture, followed by a roundtable discussion with Enrico Giannetto, Gianfranco Mormino, Bianca Nogara Notarianni, and Marina Beraha, moderated by Marco Stucchi.
Thanks to all! Preparing my lecture was an opportunity to re-think and identify a materialist approach as the main and lasting tenet of my research on animal domination, across sacrifice in archaic societies and meat in capitalist ones, from Girard to Marx. The questions and comments on the role of Marxism, science, moral philosophy (and not moralism!), reproduction, and desires still haunts my thoughts - as in the best tradition of spectres.
Tons of thanks to Bianca (Bucefalo Reading Group) for the amazing work on the zine: words are alive and playful!
Thanks to all the human and non-human participants!
