Keynote Lecture in Milan!

I’m very happy and honoured to share that on 20 May 2026 I’ll give a keynote lecture at the Università degli Studi di Milano – La Statale for the event Del dominio sugli animali. Forme della subordinazione dal sacrificio alla carne (On the Domination of Animals: Forms of Subordination from Sacrifice to Meat).

My lecture will trace a research trajectory on archaic and contemporary forms of animal subordination, starting from my two books: Nient’altro che vulnerabilità (Nothing but Vulnerability, 2020) and The Human and the Meat (2025).

I’m truly grateful to the Gruppo di Lettura Bucefalo and to the Gruppo Studi Girard for the kind invitation, and very much looking forward to discussing these themes with Enrico Giannetto and Gianfranco Mormino, my former doctoral and master’s thesis advisors, Bianca Nogara Notarianni, and Marina Beraha, under the thoughtful chairing of Marco Stucchi.
